Windows 7 has many new features out of which one feature is Windows XP Mode which lets you to run Windows XP on your Windows 7 however in order to use Windows XP mode you must have Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate and your computer must have hardware level virtualization support. Due to above requirements many user won't be able to enjoy Windows XP Mode. Here is VMLite alterative to Windows XP Mode.

XP Mode Virtual Disk Initialization Form

This is the last form of the XP Mode Setup Wizard. During this step, the virtual disk file will be mounted, and VMLite will try its best to make it bootable with VMLite Workstation. In addition, the VMLite Guest Additions will be automatically installed to the vm. After all done, the virtual disk will be dismounted, and the XP Mode virtual machine is ready for use.

There are some known issues with regard to our virtual disk driver. During this step, if the virtual disk is not successfully mounted after a few minutes, you will have to cancel the wizard, and reboot your host machine, then redo the XP Mode creation again. We are working on this problem, and expect to fix it completely in our next release.
